SMALL CHANGE (10:42) – In this short indie film, a small but loving gesture from one young sibling to another gives hope to a family in crisis. We recommend Sr. Rose’s Questions for Reflection and Conversation. Special note: CatholicTV is running a marathon of our Lenten Film Series this Saturday, with episodes and interviews back to back.

(Chicago/Los Angeles)– The Chicago-Detroit Jesuits, along with the IN Network, an online platform supported by creative media company Loyola Productions, is launching a Lenten Film Series via an original program entitled The INNdustry with Sister Rose. Hosted by Sr. Rose Pacatte, FSP, this seasonal series features film and TV clips that many will know from mainstream programming to highlight Lenten themes and foster reflection and conversation.“The Lenten Film Series offers viewers a unique, media-driven way to journey through Lent using a variety of TV and film programs as meaningful spiritual guideposts,” said Sr. Rose. “The breadth and depth of the programming across genres and subject matter is inspiring. Loyola Productions has done a wonderful job producing the series that will make Lent more meaningful for those who watch one or all of the episodes.”
Each of the seven episodes includes interviews with the media makers, including writer Barbara Hall (HOMELAND, JUDGING AMY, JOAN OF ARCADIA), director Tom Shadyac (BRUCE ALMIGHTY, LIAR LIAR, ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE, I AM), actor Martin Sheen (THE WEST WING, APOCALYPSE NOW, THE WAY), and actor/director Emilio Estevez (BOBBY, THE WAY).
Questions for reflection and commentary are also offered. Premiering online on Ash Wednesday, March 5th, the Lenten Film Series releases six more episodes every Wednesday afterward, taking viewers right up to the Paschal Triduum. The Lenten Film Series is ideal for use in prayer groups, young adult ministry, retreats, classrooms, and individual Lenten preparation for Easter. A promotional video and press kit materials can be viewed here.
“Through the Lenten Film Series with Sr. Rose, we meet the faithful where they are, online and through social media,” says Fr. Eddie Siebert, S.J, executive producer for Loyola Productions. “Pope Francis himself said the Internet is a gift from God that facilitates communication, and we are proud to be offering online Lenten programming that we think Pope Francis would welcome.”
