Sonny, 32, earned a bachelor’s from the University of Houston and a master’s in education from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. For the past seven years, he was a Catholic school math teacher in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. He was inspired to join the Jesuits by a Caritas Ignatian retreat experience and the young adult ministry of Fr. Tri Dinh, SJ, in Houston. (Central and Southern Province)
