Describe your current role — what do you do each day?
I am one of the vocation promoters in the Midwest for the Jesuits. When a man from our geographic region requests information about the Jesuits, I am the Jesuit who responds to him. My vocation ministry is one of visibility on college campuses as well as support and accompaniment of the men in discernment.
Why did you feel called to serve as a Jesuit brother?
I felt called to be a brother because I wanted to serve God in a committed way through the vows and serve God and God’s people with my gifts and talents. I also wanted to live with and work alongside other Jesuits who have made this same commitment.
What do you love most about being a Jesuit brother?
What I like most about being a brother is being accessible and bringing my love of Christ into other environments. In addition to my ministry in vocation work, I am a chaplain in a residence hall at Creighton University and I also coach and compete in powerlifting. I’ve had conversations about Christ over a game of ping pong at the dorm, in the weight room and at powerlifting competitions. No matter where I am, I never stop being a Jesuit brother.
