Encounter Peru: The Jesuit Mission

From June 15 to 25, 2018, the Midwest Province of the Jesuits hosted and immersion trip to Peru. Fifteen people– some complete strangers to one another– traveled from Seattle, the Twin Cities, Chicago, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia, to meet in Lima, Peru. There, they connected with Jesuit Frs. Matt Garr and Kevin Flaherty who served as guides of the Jesuit mission and works in Peru

From the challenges of day-to-day life in the El Algustino neighborhood, to the schools and churches around Andahuaylillas, to the sights of Machu Picchu, the Temple of the Sun and the Sacred Valley, the Peruvian people revealed the generosity, warmth, and hospitality for which they are well known.
