Join Us for the Omaha Challenge

Since 2003, the Ignatian Dinner has annually celebrated the collaboration between the Midwest Jesuits and our friends in Omaha.

Fr. Timothy Lannon, SJ, speaks at the Omaha Ignatian Dinner held at Creighton Prep on October 9, 2018.
This year, Fr. Timothy Lannon, SJ, provincial assistant for formation, thanked attendees for their commitment to the work of the Jesuits in Omaha and around the world.

He also announced the “Omaha Challenge” to raise $180,000 – the cost of theology studies for Daniel Kennedy, SJ, as he prepares for his priestly ordination in 2023.

“Dan has loved his time in Omaha and has made quite a positive and lasting impression, especially on the students and their families at Creighton Prep,” Fr. Lannon explained. “He is a great example of the outstanding Jesuits in formation who are answering God’s call to serve the Church and the People of God through the Society of Jesus.”

Jesuit formation takes an average of 11 years and costs upwards of $500,000 for each individual.

Please prayerfully consider adding to the $10,000 already raised by the Ignatian Dinner toward the $180,000 for Dan’s theology training. The Midwest Province remains committed to providing the very best formation for our Jesuits, which is only possible with help from friends and benefactors like you.
