While there were ups and downs in my 50 years as a Jesuit, I would say the one word that most describes my time as a Jesuit is “consoling.” I cannot imagine making more of a difference in the world and in people’s lives than I have been able to as a Jesuit – whether as a teacher, vocation director or administrator.

I’ve enjoyed the different ministries I’ve been called to, whether as a teacher at Marquette High, Red Cloud Indian School, or St. Aloyisius in Sydney, Australia or as vocation director for seven years or as president of MUHS for eight years.

Each has given me a vantage point on the world which has been very interesting and educational. I’ve enjoyed being challenged and discovering latent gifts through the different ministries to which I’ve been called.
